Electronic Ignition Control and Timer

This version of the product is conceived to work in cooperation with a gas "volume counter." The counter is placed in the gas line after the regulator. The rotor is turned by the flow of gas and a photo-diode picks up each rotation thereby giving the electronic control an accurate indication of how much gas is being used.

Once the cooking process has begun, the electronic control can be removed from the grill without losing track of the amount of gas being used, since it will calculate volume used per unit of time.

When a gas tank is refilled and the user plugs in the electronic control, pressing RESET will start the count over for the full tank. The electronic control will be able to sense when the gas controls are set to various levels of flow and, therefore, additional "cookbook" features could be easily added.
